AutoBio: I was at an open mic night in Birmingham, AL in 2010 just a couple weeks after my father in law at the time, Gary L. Greene, passed away. That evening I heard Wilder Adkins play his song, Nightingale, and for the first time I felt I heard someone showing me how to write. In life I often felt reduced and he was saying something without reducing it. So, I began writing and I often feel that when I do it well, it helps me see clearly and make room for myself. This album is a collection of stories and images I found myself writing as I continued to make room for myself in this world. We recorded this album live in Carter Laney’s art studio on garage band primarily with one mic for our vocals and my guitar, a late 1930’s Kalamazoo Carter introduced to me about six years ago. Carter and I met up at an open mic night in Birmingham, AL and I knew I wanted to record with him by listening to a demo he gave me to practice a few fiddle tunes by. Thank you for stopping by and I appreciate you checking this album out. (bio for Bumpingums)

I would like to especially thank everyone who has made room for me in their world, the Greene family for permission to include Gary's song, Part of Me Still Lives In Georgia on the album, Justin and Amy Cross for allowing me to ask as many questions as I can think of, and finally the Gate named Brady.
